Menopause is an opportunity for women to come together, support each other and exchange their shared wisdom. Thankfully the taboo surrounding the Menopause is now beginning to lift and women are recognising the importance of being educated and informed about this natural transition that every woman will go through in her mid life.

Menopause Yoga has at its heart the desire to help, support, educate and empower as many women as possible through their menopausal years. It is an inclusive and accessible form of yoga designed specifically for women in any stage of Menopause from Perimenopause (when physical, mental and emotional changes first start to appear and a woman’s periods start to become irregular) to Post Menopause. This unique therapeutic style of yoga incorporates elements of Hatha, Restorative, Yin and Vinyasa yoga as well as breathing and mindful meditation techniques chosen specifically to help alleviate the symptoms of Menopause as well as providing a positive approach to this stage of life.

There are numerous possible symptoms that women may experience through their menopause therefore each class is themed so as to address specific symptoms and explore the ways in which yoga may help ease them. An important part of every class is a Women’s Circle; a non judgemental safe space for women to talk, share, help and support each other, an opportunity to be listened to and heard in a nurturing and supportive environment. Lifestyle and nutritional choices that may help support women during their menopause are also touched upon as well as references to other helpful resources, books and websites. Women are also encouraged to reflect, self study and journal during this natural “pause” in their life.

Themed 90 Minute Classes

Introduction: What is Menopause and how can Menopause Yoga Help?

1 Release in to Coolness helping to alleviate hot flushes and night sweats, anger and irritability

2.Settle and Calm – helping to alleviate stress, anxiety and overwhelm.

3.Strengthen and Energise – helping address lethargy and low mood, sluggish digestion and weight gain.

4.Rest, Restore and Reset – helping to alleviate insomnia, lack of clarity, low energy and address unhelpful sleeping patterns.

5.Crystal Clear helping to address fatigue and brain fog.

Thursday 7-8.30pm Live Online 90 minute classes

Classes run throughout the year.

5 week term priced at £55 or £12 per class if paying by the class.

You will need to…

You are encouraged to bring your own yoga equipment to class. To take part in our online or community menopause yoga classes you will need a yoga mat, one or 2 blankets, a yoga bolster (or sturdy cushions), yoga belt, yoga brick(s) and 2 or 3 blocks, and an optional eye bag.
